Amazi Water: Turning a Mission Into a Moment of Action
Project Type: Documentary-Style Fundraising Film
Focus: Donor Engagement, Event Storytelling, Clean-Water Access
Impact: $239,500 raised across two donor events
In Burundi, access to clean water dictates the course of a child’s life, a family’s health, and an entire community’s future. Since 2015, Amazi Water has worked to bring safe, sustainable water to communities facing extreme poverty and food insecurity. With 90% of the population relying on subsistence farming, the effects of water scarcity reach far beyond a daily walk for water.
Amazi Water needed to help donors see this reality clearly—and understand their power to change it.
The Challenge
Amazi Water’s work is deeply tangible: a single completed water project transforms daily life for a community. Yet, in a ballroom thousands of miles away, the distance between donors and the people they serve feels vast.
The team needed more than a slide deck filled with facts and figures. They needed a tool to bridge that gap. The goal was not simply to explain the need, but to make the impact feel personal, immediate, and entirely possible.
The Vision
We partnered with Amazi Water to craft a main-event micro-documentary for their fundraising campaigns. Our vision: communicate the massive scale of Burundi's water crisis without losing sight of the human beings at its center.
Through honest, documentary-style storytelling, we connected the abstract problem of water scarcity to the real lives it impacts. We built a story designed to move people from passive awareness to decisive action.
The Impact
Amazi Water’s goal is monumental: 100% access to clean water in Burundi by 2030. Our film gave that vision a face.
When featured at two major donor events, the film helped generate $239,500 in immediate donations. Because private funders cover operational overhead, every single dollar raised goes directly toward building sustainable water projects in Burundi.

More Than a Fundraising Film
The strongest nonprofit storytelling does more than communicate a need; it connects people to a mission larger than themselves.
For Amazi Water, this micro-documentary provided an emotionally grounded way to show donors exactly what is at stake.
Because when people can truly see the impact, they are ready to help create it.
